MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
WHAT IS THE MENTOR PROGRAM?
The Mentor Program is a student-run program under the direction of Santa Ana College Student Nurses Association.
Participation is Voluntary.

MENTORS COMMITMENT
Mentors are Responsible for contacting and establishing communication with their mentee. Communication may be via e-mail, text or in person
Mentors should be prepared to discuss experiences, offer advice, provide study tips and share knowledge of available resources
Answer questions regarding Kaplan exams, concept maps and clinical rotations

Being a Mentor provides an opportunity for personal growth and the personal satisfaction of giving back to your peers.

WHAT CAN A MENTEE EXPECT FROM THE PROGRAM?
To have an available source for questions or guidance on what to expect from the upcoming semester
Be made aware of any additional helpful resources and tools (such as recommended books and study guides that were used by your mentor)
Study tips and most importantly words of encouragement!

CODE OF CONDUCT
Be respectful of each others time and remember that your mentor is a nursing student too
Mentors are not private tutors. There are tutoring resources available to students please contact the Nursing office for information
Please respond to your mentor or mentee in a timely fashion.
Be a source of positivity for each other and radiate good energy

I WANT TO PARTICIPATE! HOW DO I SIGN UP?
A SACSNA representative will visit your class the first week of school with sign up information

CAN I CHANGE MY MIND?
Yes! you can opt in or out at any point during the semester. Please contact the coordinator to notify them of the change.
