SACSNA was recognized last weekend during the awards ceremony at the 2016 CNSA Convention. SACSNA received the award for CNSA Outstanding Chapter, Outstanding CNSA Member to fourth- semester student, Brenda Gonzalez, and the CNSA Multi-chapter Award for the Save a Heart Day, in collaboration with CSU Sacramento, Chico, East Bay, San Jose, Stanislaus, and Grossmont College. SACSNA has shown tremendous growth since regaining NSNA (National Student Nurses’ Association) official constituency last fall, with a 59% increase in NSNA membership, quality community service events, professional development opportunities, collaboration with other chapters, and 100% delegate representation at the 2016 House of Delegates. This year’s delegates were first-semester student, Yessi Hernandez, third-semester student, Heather Peyton, and fourth-semester students, Denine Duronslet and Joey Nguyen. In addition, two fourth-semester students were awarded with scholarships. Joey Nguyen received the American Nurses Association California Scholarship, and Paola Molina was presented with the Katie Bray Inspirational Award. Congratulations to our chapter for an outstanding year, and for fulfilling our mission to its full potential!!!
